Tessrargrammis was added to the lexicon of web vocabulary in late September 2022 by Chris Davis.

Research into the etymology of the # symbol led to looking afresh at the symbol and what it comprised.

One interpretation was that it is four lines.

Drawing on the Greek language for the number 4 and lines led to the (anglicised) word “tessaragrammis”.

Online searches returned nil results – indicating if the word had previously existed it had yet to be publicly documented in the digital world.
