poficucon is an abbreviation of Post Fiat Currency Icon.

The way in which many western democratic countries around the world managed what was terms the “COVID Pandemic” was to print more money.  Lots of it.

That was FIAT money.  The quantities produced had not been witnessed be fore in mankind’s recorded history.

There was a school of thought that such “paper” currencies would devalue, become of little value and ultimately need replacing.

It was in this context that designs for the Post Fiat Currency Icon came into being.

Whilst gold had been the pre-FIAT money era’s preferred peg there was no certainty that a return to using gold would be viable.

The “lack of mistrust” epoch would mean that some form of business continuity planning was required.

A proxy of some sort would probably be required – to complement barter and/or provide a token for exchange.  It could be locally administered and agreed on by individuals and their Lack Of Mistrust Communities (LOM Communities).

A symbol would be universal.  Thus a derivative of the KEFLICON which had been designed in May 2022 was used.

Suitably modified with the yellow of the sun and the blue of water.  Both were assumed to be needed for mankind to survive and grow.

In the event of mass starvation, famine and ensuing death the global population could reduce significantly.

It could be that the clock would rewind several hundreds of years but that – until new autocracies / oligarchies were formed – the LOM Communities would trade between themselves.

The poficucon would be augmented with other images (rather than languages) and a new breed of “currency” traders and exchanges would emerge.  Initially more akin to pawnbrokers and commodity brokers in the FIAT currency era.
